DivEr and PhD student Danelle du Plessis recently published her very first academic journal article together with her supervisor Prisca Massao and Sandra Fylkesnes. The article is titled "What can critical perspectives on whiteness do for post-racial teacher education? A review of studies from the 'nice' Norwegian context". The article was published in the journal Teaching & Teacher Education. Through a review of studies from 2008 to 2020 in the Norwegian context that utilise critical perspectives on whiteness, their article identifies a growing body of research demonstrating the different ways in which whiteness works within the Norwegian context. DivEr Jonas Yassin Iversen recently published his first article based on his postdoctoral research project in European Educational Research Journal. The article is titled "Transculturation of Arabic literacy education within and beyond mainstream education in Norway and Sweden". In the article, he demonstrates how the organisation of Arabic literacy education (either within Swedish mainstream education or as supplementary education in a mosque) contributes to shapte the transculturation process in the two settings. DivEr Vander Tavares and Artëm Ingmar Benediktsson have published an article on the experiences of Ukrainian refugees learning Icelandic as a second language through drama plays. The study illustrates that learning Icelandic through drama afforded the learners an opportunity to learn Icelandic in creative, engaging, and meaningful ways. Furthermore, the drama plays supported the enactment and development of essential capacities for personal and professional growth, such as open-midedness, tolerance, respect, and collaboration. DivE-forsker Thor-André Skrefsrud har publisert kapitlet “Debating the practice of separate plurilingual programs in Norwegian schools from a spatial perspective”. Kapitlet inngår i antologien, Inclusive Education in Bilingual and Plurilingual Programs, redigert av Lidia Mañoso-Pacheco, José Luis Estrada Chichón, og Roberto Sánchez-Cabrero. Artikkelen har tittelen “Listening to young people’s voices: Attempts at developing context- and participant-sensitive approaches”. Les mer her.
